Idea Generation

For my main masters work, I wanted to develop one of two ideas that have mainly been in my drafts for about around the time I had been in collage.

My first idea had been to create a character, Lucas, who only got his name from a half burnt ID card in his possession, that would be someone given great power, yet no memory of their past before a terrible fire in the woods 3 years prior to the story.

Set in rural America, Lucas would tend to travel to not stay in one place too long and to take jobs.

A mysterious archivist by the name of Cyrus Gamble, a Victorian scientist and inventor and his adopted sister Nefertari, a Frankenstein inspired constructed human trying to find their creator and killer, encounter him alongside two others with abilities and invite them to help understand where their powers reside from and creating a powerful group to stop crimes and solve mysteries.

My second idea was to develop a storyline including the ancient Egyptian god Anubis, who when he made a mistake in the Duat, the king of the gods Ra and Osiris, God of the afterlife try to lock him away as punishment.

He is able to travel between the world of the living and the dead and finds a vessel in the form of a teenage boy who had been recently accidently killed in a graveyard by bullies he was pursued by.

Anubis is able to take a human identity and learn about the life of the person who's body they left behind whilst defending the spirits of the dead from dark entities in order to still guide them to the places they need to go, aided by the ghost of a dog that seemed to follow the former occupier of his human visage.

Anubis will have to understand the idea of mortality and humanity in a new light as he experiences life, love and loss for the first time.
